Get named when it counts.
Buyers ask AI for a recommendation and get a shortlist. Crawlability measures whether you're on it, why you're not, and what to change — across all four major engines.
There is no position four.
In search, visibility is a gradient. You rank third, or eighth, or on page two — and every position still exists. In an AI answer, there are three names, maybe four. Everything else is nothing.
So AI visibility isn't a ranking you climb. It's a threshold you cross: are you in the answer, or aren't you? Measuring it means measuring presence — prompt by prompt, engine by engine.
Four things engines decide before they name you.
Can they reach you?
If engines can't access and parse your content cleanly, nothing else matters. This is the floor.
Do they understand you?
If your content doesn't state plainly what you are and who you're for, engines will infer it — and often infer it wrong.
Do they trust you?
Engines cite sources they consider credible. Weak trust signals mean being described without being sourced.
Can you be the answer?
Content structured to resolve a question directly gets surfaced. Content engines have to work to interpret does not.
These four are your readiness pillars. Your weakest one is dragging the rest down.
- 1Add named sources & citations on core category pages
- 2Expand author bio and organization schema
- 3Publish reference-grade comparison content
A low pillar costs you more than a mediocre average.
Visibility isn't the sum of four scores — it's gated by the weakest one. An engine that can't parse your pages will never get to the question of whether it trusts you. Raising your floor moves your visibility more than polishing what already works.
Find the weakest pillar
One number tells you where the ceiling actually is. Start there, not with what's easiest.
Ship the prioritized fixes
An ordered plan, not a list of problems — with the technical files to implement it.
Re-measure and confirm
Pillars respond quickly because they measure your own site. This is your earliest signal that you're on the right track.
The score is the diagnosis. The shortlist is the outcome.
A rising score is a leading indicator, not a result. What you're actually chasing is presence: appearing in more of the buying-intent questions your category is being asked, on more engines, more often.
Crawlability tracks both — the pillars that explain why, and the presence that proves it.
Absent in 10 of 10 category prompts. Then 4 of 10. That's what progress actually looks like.
This is a trend, not a switch.
AI responses vary between runs, and engines update on their own schedules. You won't flip from invisible to cited overnight, and any tool promising you that is overselling. What you'll see, measured across repeated scans, is your name appearing more often across more prompts and more engines.
Common questions
How long until my visibility improves?
Readiness pillars move quickly because they measure your own site. Visibility and citations typically take a few weeks, since engines update on their own cadence.
I rank #1 on Google. Why am I invisible to AI?
They're different systems with different rules. Google rewards links and authority. AI engines decide based on how well they can access, understand, and trust your content. Strong rankings don't guarantee AI visibility.
Which pillar should I fix first?
Your weakest one. Visibility is gated by your floor, not your average — a low pillar caps everything above it.
Why did my score change when I didn't do anything?
AI responses naturally vary between scans. Small movements are expected, which is why progress is judged on trends across multiple scans, not a single number.
Do you measure all four engines on every plan?
Yes. Every scan queries ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity.
